GAZE

GAZE was born from my interest in the simple yet profound act of looking. I wanted to create an exhibition that reminds us that seeing is never passive; every gaze carries curiosity, memory, emotion, and personal experience. The works in this exhibition invite viewers to slow down, look beyond the obvious, and discover the stories, ideas, and emotions embedded within each piece.

In selecting the artists, I was particularly drawn to practices that demonstrate strong individuality while offering different ways of engaging with the world around us. At the heart of the exhibition are the multidisciplinary works of Akeem Dayo Adedeji, whose paintings and mixed-media pieces reflect a remarkable sensitivity to culture, material, and storytelling. His practice is complemented by the distinctive voices of Ajibola O. Odusoji, Ezekiel Ogundipe, Oghenovize Solomon Okeh, and Tiwalola Blessing, whose works explore everyday spaces, agriculture, personal histories, and the quiet complexities of human experience through diverse visual approaches. Together, they create a rich visual conversation that encourages viewers not only to look, but to truly see.
